For the extension of a high tech industry R8D lab, the technical specification of construction project was prepared in work breakdown structure (WBS) forms and communicated with local suppliers. A project team were built of relevant internal parties and the suppliers feedback were evaluated in three phases: checking on company reliability and references, personal meeting and the offers comparison matrix.
Results: The preferred supplier according to the selection criteria's final report was submitted to the management for budget approval.
In a manufacturing industry reporting efficiency of 8 production plants were evaluated. The reporting time in number of days and quality of manufacturing and service data were poor. The reporting system was redesigned. The data were collected online and reports based on consolidated data were automatically updated via a reporting tool and the database built up of the manufacturing and service data.
Results: The data quality improved from 80% to 99% and reporting time was reduced from 20 to 3 days.
A polymer batch process unit of a large chemical complex was studied to optimize process performance and reduce variation in quality. First the plant was visited and based on the process flow chart made necessary data were collected and analyzed using SAS.
Results: Based on the analyses, the control parameter was better predicted and as result of that the down stream sampling were reduced.
